Sep 29, 2008· Best Answer: I would raise the suction pipe which has a foot valve (check valve ) on the end of it up a couple of feet from its current depth. You have sand filtering into the well casing and it has filled up the bottom of the well casing. You don’t want the pump sucking sand as it will destroy the impellers in the pump, and may clog the foot valve (check valve) to where it does not close …Followers: 1
